Customer Testimonials

“Hey Jeff, I picked up the snare drum yesterday, and I had a gig last night at a winery. And I just can’t tell ya how pleased I am with that drum. And of course all the people in the band, who are very familiar with drum sounds and the quality of musical instruments, just thought that the sound of the drum was unbelievable. I went ahead and recorded that evening as well, and it recorded just amazingly. Sometimes it’s really hard to record snare drums just because of overtones, rings, and things that are generally very hard to manage in terms of getting a good recording, and your drum just popped thru the mix. I just can’t tell you how happy I am. Just keep up the work cause you make a damn good drum dude.”

– Steve Millard

“These Crockett Tubs drums really rock! Can’t wait for you to make me an orchestral snare drum!”

– Trey Wyatt of The San Francisco Symphony
& Owner of California Percussion.com

“Your drums are top of the line. And you stand by your work. I’m loving playing this gear. That snare is BY FAR the most sensitive snare I’ve ever played, and the 3 way throw off is really nice. For the music I play, mostly medium volume, clubs, private parties, etc. for me it’s, well… perfect! Also this kick is just what I wanted. The tuning range on the whole kit is much wider than I expected. I actually think I play better; or maybe it’s that the drums just sound better. In any case I’m very very pleased.”

– Carl Upthegrove

“Good evening Jeff! I picked the snare up after work but didn’t get a chance to try it out until now. The snare plays absolutely fantastic! That little sucker really cracks! The drum actually resonates more than I thought it would, for a stave drum, which I definitely like. I really appreciate your attention to detail, the drum is a fine piece of work! Nice packing job as well and thanks for the T-shirt…I’ll wear it with pride. When I spend more time with it I’m sure I’ll really learn what it’s capable of and how it ranks, but as for right now I’d say it’s way up there! Definitely within the top 3 of all the 70+ snares I own. All in all I feel the price of the snare is definitely worth it. Anyways, looking forward to the other snare as well and I have a feeling you’ll be hearing more from me in the future. Thanks for following the tracking also, very profesional service! Take care for now Jeff and thanks for this wonderful drum!”

– Jan Lucas (Canada)

“I’m luv’n my custom 7×13″ gloss black Crockett Tubs snare 8ply maple with the black Trick throwoff with 3 different tension settings; not only does it sound great, it is absolutely beautiful. A wide range of sound depending how you like to tune it! It is by far the best snare I own for all occasions! I’m looking forward to the rest of the kit built asap! I’ve known Jeff for about 10yrs now & his work is outstanding & I promote him to all my drum students & all the bands that pass in & out of my studio & on a regular basis. Last but not least, his prices are very honest & respectful! Plus you’re getting exactly what you want! So it’s worth every cent! I invite any drummer in & around Concord, CA to play my drum to see for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!”

– Randy Gallerin of Colorblind Studios

“Hey Jeff, just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for building me this awesome custom snare. Your expertise on what I wanted was perfect. I’m pumped!! It has that nice tight fat sound I’ve been looking for in a snare. Just slighty tuned it from what you did. The wrap is perfect, matches the dw wrap almost perfect. You would have to look really close. I really like the tube lugs and the throwoff. The whole drum is just awesome!! Your craftsmanship is outstanding. Thanks for signing it I really appreciate that. I’m looking forward to playing New Years and all my upcoming gigs with it. Thanks again!!”

– Don Updike

“Hello again from Japan. I purchased your snare a few months ago. Your drum is really great and fantastic!! I love the amazing sound.”

– Sho (Japan)

“At the risk of repeating myself, the snare sounds AMAZING! It’s crazy how just tiny adjustments open up a whole new sound. I couldn’t be happier! And it looks stellar. You are a true artist!”

– Paul Schuyler
