5×14″ Karelian Birch Slingerland Snare

A unique shell constructed of thin maple ply with an inside and outside ply of exotic karelian birch. This custom shell was provided by Stone Custom Drum Co which has recently acquired and retooled all the old Slingerland shell molds. The drum has a very warm sound and great fat tone for a softer touch and that classic vintage sound. We can work with Stone Custom Drums to produce unique vintage slingerland style shells for any customer in sizes 12″, 13″ and 14″ for now and more sizes coming. Finished in our natural high gloss lacquer with all black nickel hardware. The added 8 lugs creates a fatter feel and depth instead of a typical 10 lug version that has more high end crack and wide dynamics.

6.5×14″ Curly Maple Snare

A Players Series 6.5×14″ maple 10ply shell with an outer exotic curly maple veneer and added 6ply reinforcement rings. Finished in natural satin stain that really pops the unique curly wood figuring with all chrome hardware. A new chrome plated Trick multi-step throwoff, full length tube lugs x10, 2.3mm triple flanged hoops, Remo drumheads, and German snare wires. This drum has a very wide tuning range and extra sensitivity due to the added re-rings which help lead this drum for any style of music or player. A very versatile drum with a killer look.

Purple Kandy Fade Paint Job

We did this custom paint job for a good friend on his own handmade maple stave shells. This was a custom blend of 2 colors creating this vibrant Purple Kandy that fades to natural maple under our high gloss finish. These raw shell pictures are before we buffed them to a flat mirror finish, and then one completed by the customer with his choice of parts. 7×13″ Bubinga / Curly Maple Stave with Satin Chrome

A unique snare that has become very popular for its sleek looks and awesome sound. A 7×13″ solid stave shell with alternating bubinga and curly soft maple in a natural satin stain that brings all the wood character out and helps protect the solid boards when changing environments and climates. The 1/2″ thickness adds high end and volume for a tighter crack. The all satin chrome hardware includes matching solid brass full length tube lugs, die cast hoops for extra pop and greater rimshots, and even a matching air vent that is rarely seen. The Trick multi step throwoff in brushed aluminum matches the hardware perfectly. We have done this shell in similar sizes and hardware setups, but the matching satin finish on the shells and hardware speaks for itself.  Already on its way out to Massachusetts.

5×14″ Solid Shell Birdseye Maple w/ Matching Wood Hoops

Here is a highly figured exotic birdseye maple solid steam bent shell in a natural high gloss finish with custom made “Yamaha” style 32ply maple wood hoops with inner and outer plies of exotic birdseye veneer.  We picked the highest grade AAA birdseye maple available which is getting harder and harder to find as birdseye figuring only occurs in less than 5% of all maple.  Other hardware includes a Trick multi step throwoff, solid chrome over brass tube lugs, puresound wires and Remo drumheads.

7×13″ Snare with Tons of Pop and Tone

A funky 13″ snare drum that has tons of pop and tone. The 8ply maple of our Standard Series coupled with the 7″ depth and 13″ diameter creates a full bodied snare drum that has a tighter attack and warm tone. Finished in our Natural Satin Oil on a beautiful shell we chose with some slight curly figuring. All chrome hardware including full length solid brass tube lugs, 2.3mm triple flanged hoops for a more open tone, and an RCK throwoff.

7×14″ Birdseye Maple With Caribbean Blue Burst & Custom Lugs

This Players Series 10ply Maple drum was dressed with an exotic birdseye maple veneer that has tons of AAA figure and an insane amount of dense grain. We custom painted a new Kandy transparent color custom blended in house called “Caribbean Blue” to natural burst in high gloss that enhances the exotic birdseye figure and pops the grain. This drum was built for Chris Kennedy of QUICK ACTION DRUM LUGS as a show model to promote his quick release custom made lugs. These unique lugs are made so that you only have to partially loosen the tension rods and then turn the whole hoop and the head is released for quick changing.
